My Experience

Abhijit Bhattacharya

Abhijit brings a distinctive blend of practitioner experience and scholarly inquiry to business, leadership and human development. His journey from two decades in the corporate world to academic research reflects a deep interest in what enables people and organizations to grow, adapt, and thrive.

Over the course of his corporate career, Abhijit worked with organizations including S&P Global, Wells Fargo, ADP, bwin, Wipro and Synnex, leading global talent agendas and developing leaders across diverse business environments. This experience has given him a first-hand understanding of leadership as it is actually lived, amid competing priorities, organizational complexity, business pressures and the expectations that come with leading others.

His grounding in organizational psychology allows him to look beyond the presenting challenge and consider the wider context in which people lead, learn and change. It also gives him a natural ability to move between the individual and the organization to understand both the person at the centre of a challenge and the system around them.

Abhijit is particularly interested in what sits beneath visible behaviours – how people make sense of their experiences, the assumptions they carry, and the patterns that shape the choices they make. He believes that some of the most significant shifts in leadership happen when people begin to see familiar situations differently and, in doing so, see themselves differently.

He creates a space to think beyond the obvious, challenge what has become familiar, and explore what might be possible. For leaders and organizations facing consequential moments, and for professionals committed to deepening their own practice, his aim is to make those conversations thoughtful, rigorous and genuinely useful.

Helping leaders see differently and lead with greater intention

My Approach

I don't believe meaningful development begins with a predetermined model. It begins with understanding the person, the context, and what the moment is asking of them.

I bring together the perspective of a practitioner who has worked inside organizations, the lens of organizational psychology, and the curiosity of a researcher exploring how people learn and change. Together, these lenses allow me to look beyond the presenting challenge — to consider the individual, the relationships, the organization, and the wider system in which change needs to happen.

My Approach

The work is reflective, but never reflection for its own sake. It creates space to slow down, examine what may have become invisible, challenge familiar assumptions and discover possibilities that are not immediately apparent. From there, insight can become choice, and choice can become meaningful action. I bring structure when it is useful, challenge when it is needed, and curiosity when the answer isn't yet clear.

I believe the most valuable development does more than address the challenge in front of us. It expands the capacity to meet the challenges that have not yet arrived.

Ultimately, the work is about preparing people not only for what leadership demands today, but for a future in which the choices they make shape their organizations, their people and the world around them.

At the heart of his work is an aspiration to help people think more deeply, see differently, and move forward with greater intention.
